He’s Just Not That Into You

Several months ago, somebody told me that the book ‘He’s Just Not That Into You’, a phenomenal bestseller, should be EVERY single girl’s (educated, independent women) Bible. I’m not surprised that it has been flying off the shelves prior to and after the release of the movie. Honestly, I’ve glanced through the book at work and think some parts are total bullshit while the rest are pure common sense.

He's Just Not That Into You

Well, last week (2009.02.26) Von and myself caught the movie at the cinemas! I was more intrigued by the promising all-star cast than anything else; Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore, the fabulous Justin Long etc!!!!

Of all the different relationships, I was quietly impressed and wow-ed by the Affleck/ Aniston coupling. Still unmarried after 7 years together, Beth starts to re-think her relationship with Neil. Affected by the yabberings of her colleagues (Gigi & the married Janine), she breaks things off only to realise that it’s the person you’re with that matters, not the wedding vows. Needless to say, Beth & Neil ultimately have a sweet ending, and I love the way he proposed!

Ginnifer Goodwin’s performance was the acest; Gigi with her never-say-die attitude, waiting for a man to call when he says he will. Throw in her earnest, almost pathetic, efforts to understand the dating game and one can’t help but feel amused, yet faintly sad for her. The movie was entertaining and heartwarming (at times), though I must say there’s nothing much to rave about.

Over & Out,
Bee
